The project will be executed jointly by Acciona's water and infrastructure divisions near the city of Ntoum, with the aim of increasing the water supply capacity of the capital city, Libreville, and its area of influence, in light of the increased demand in the area.
The new plant will make it possible to address the estimated water needs in the area over the next fifteen years. Construction is expected to last 20 months.
A Joint Venture formed by ACCIONA Agua and the local companies Jardine Electric Control Philippines (JECP) and Frey Fil are responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Putatan Water Treatment Plant 2.
The Mundaring Water Treatment Plant is the major source of water for over 100,000 consumers connected via rural and town services that comprise the Goldfields and Agricultural Water Supply Scheme. The potable water network spans from Mundaring Weir in the Perth Hills to Kalgoorlie and considered to be the longest fresh water supply scheme in the world.
