ACCIONA covers the whole of life infrastructure development, from engineering, construction, operation & maintenance and manages the public works concessions, particularly in the field of transport and social infrastructure.
The organization has three specialized business units: 1) Bridges, Roads and Special Structures; 2) Railroads and Tunnels; and 3) Ports and Hydraulic Works.
In an increasingly globalized and complex world, the Construction business line of ACCIONA is firmly committed to international consolidation and expansion as a key element in its growth and development strategy. Working in this direction, the Company has developed and participated in some of the largest projects in the world over the last 50 years.
ACCIONA experience in building roads comprises more than 5,000 kilometers around the world. A leader in construction and engineering solutions, ACCIONA has also become a global benchmark company in the construction of all kind of bridges and viaducts: being it footbridges, arched viaducts, suspended or hanging bridges either in concrete, metal or a combination of both.
ACCIONA has more than 100 years of experience in the construction of rail infrastructure across hundreds of projects. It has designed and built more than 3,000 km of lines, of which more than 1,200 km are high-speed. It has also participated in the construction of metro and light rail projects all over the world and has a long track record in underground works, where it stands out for its geotechnical research and the use of mechanical bores and ventilation systems. Additionally, an extensive use of tunneling boring machines as the safest execution method to reduce the scheduled program of the works.
ACCIONA has undertaken several marine projects for public and private customers worldwide. It has built innumerable ports, dry docks and shipyards, quayside berths and canals, and a large number of leisure marinas, making our Company a key contributor to the international freight and passengers' traffic.
