Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (Phase III)

This EPC/turnkey project was carried out by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Masdar (Abu Dhabi's renewable energy company), and consists of the construction of one of the largest photovoltaic plants in the world.

The EPC consortium of which ACCIONA is a member will build the world's largest photovoltaic plant: Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (Phase III), with a peak capacity of 1054 MW at project completion.

The new clean energy generation plant will have a surface area of approximately 17.8 km2 and will boast over 3 million photovoltaic panels with trackers (mechanical devices that can orient the panels). Once operational, the facility will prevent atmospheric CO2 emissions in the amount of approximately 1.4 million tonnes per year.

The project will be carried out in three phases and is expected to be finished in the first half of 2020, just in time for Dubai Expo 2020.
