This is the second water treatment plant built by ACCIONA Agua in the country, following Menta (1,250 l/s).
Currently, ACCIONA Agua has a portfolio of 40 projects in Italy, both for drinking water and wastewater treatment, servicing more than 2.5 million people. In late 2011, ACCIONA Agua won the contract for an upgrading project on Las Arenas, one of the largest wastewater treatment plants in Italy and the largest in Sardinia.
A Joint Venture formed by ACCIONA Agua and the local companies Jardine Electric Control Philippines (JECP) and Frey Fil are responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Putatan Water Treatment Plant 2.
The Mundaring Water Treatment Plant is the major source of water for over 100,000 consumers connected via rural and town services that comprise the Goldfields and Agricultural Water Supply Scheme. The potable water network spans from Mundaring Weir in the Perth Hills to Kalgoorlie and considered to be the longest fresh water supply scheme in the world.
