ACCIONA set up its first office in the Middle East in Dubai in 2008. Since then, Dubai has been the hub and expansion platform from which ACCIONA carries out its business in the Gulf and other Arab states.

The Water business line of ACCIONA has permanent facilities in the Emirates in Dubai and Fujairah. Through its Construction business line, ACCIONA has designed and built the extension of the Red Line to the Expo 2020 and enhancement of both existing Red and Green Lines. It has also branches in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The two companies have jointly built a large-scale seawater desalination plant with reverse osmosis technology in Fujairah, (“Fujairah 1”), with a capacity of 136,000m³/day.

The Industrial business line of ACCIONA is constructing the world’s largest photovoltaic plant in Dubai, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (Phase III)

ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño is now permanently established in Dubai.

The Services business line and Energy division also have commercial representation in the Dubai office.

DUBAI METRO ROUTE 2020

JEBEL ALI SWRO (DEWA)

Design and Build Contract for a seawater desalination plant at the Jebel Ali Power & Water Station, located 35 kilometres southwest of Downtown Dubai. Its capacity of almost 200,000 m³ makes it one of the largest in the UAE and the first large one in the Emirate.

MOHAMMED BIN RASHID AL MAKTOUM SOLAR PARK (PHASE III)

This EPC/turnkey project was carried out by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Masdar (Abu Dhabi's renewable energy company), and consists of the construction of one of the largest photovoltaic plants in the world.
